
PCV Driving Apprenticeship
The Passenger Carrying Vehicles (Bus & Coach) Driving Apprenticeship is a training programme funded by the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL).
The course involves classroom instruction on topics such as Drivers Hours & Tachographs, Customer Service, Assisting Passengers with Special Needs, Fuel Efficiency and Health & Safety.
Qualified instructors then carry out workplace assessments as a measure of competence and this is documented in a portfolio of evidence.
In addition to the vocational training, Essential Skills in Communication, Application of Number and ICT are also delivered to candidates who have not obtained an equivalent qualification.
Drivers who successfully complete the programme will achieve a NVQ Level 2 in PCV Driving (Bus and Coach)
