
Technical Training
TTS provides a wide range of Technical Training for technicians employed within the Retail Motor Industry. The training falls within 4 main groups:
1. Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are currently available through TTS in four main career paths :
- Light Vehicle Technician
- Heavy Vehicle Technician
- Vehicle Body Repair
- Vehicle Refinish
Apprenticeships are funded by the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) under the ApprenticeshipsNI programme and are available to applicants of all ages that have been resident in Northern Ireland for the last three years. Apprentices are employed with locally based, branded and independent motor retailers and repair centres.
2. Vehicle Body Repair
TTS has a fully equipped Body Repair Training facility including a state of the art spray booth & oven facility, a CAR-O-LINER BenchRack 5000 Collision Repair System and a variety of welding equipment. This facility is used to train apprentices and for other short courses related to repair techniques for damaged vehicles.
3. ATA - Automotive Technician Accreditation
This is a voluntary assessment programme for technicians working in the Retail Motor Industry. It is an independent assessment of competence and is available for maintenance, panel and paint technicians.
4. Specialist Courses
TTS can offer a wide range of specialist technical courses to suit individual company needs.
Courses range from ATA preparation and engine diagnostics through to application of water based paints and welding techniques.
